Rich - If this drags out until September and the Packers pay Aaron $60 million, what are the jets going to do for a quarterback? It won't be Rodgers.
Is this journalism or wishful thinking?
I’m curious to the reason a franchise doesn’t make the playoffs for so many years, what is it that they are missing?
Both second round picks and a conditional pick next year. The Jets can keep their first round pick, and the packers, given their need to fill multiple positions with little to spend, should value this higher than the single first round pick. But I do find all of this nonsensical discussion about "leverage" to be meaningless at best. It is in both teams' interest to work out a deal, and perhaps they already have!! Maybe, each team is anticipating some backlash from its fan base for the details of the agreement, that they want the optics of having been hard-nosed negotiators to the very end, securing the very best deal for their respective teams.
I'd rather sit Rodgers until he retires than give him up for a 4th round pick. Its a rebuilding year anyways.
Thanks for the "Vacation" reference Rich. I haven't seen that movie in years. I miss John Candy and the old Chevy Chase.😂
Rich, wait another another 50 yrs.
I wouldn't be surprised if the way the Jets are handling this may just be pissing Rodgers off. He has a high opinion of himself and his value too. Jets could screw themselves if not careful.
Thing is that the Packers aren't actually a "poor" NFL franchise, they just run as a frugal business because of the nature of the Board of Directors. Thinking that the Packers are somehow "afraid of swallowing" the $60 million payout is silly, because while that may be an actual payout, once it is paid it means that Rodger's cap number for the year goes considerably DOWN.
This is why the Packers are "stubbornly holding out" for the Jets #13 (1st round) pick this year. They're eating money either way, but if the Jets want Rodgers' services at all before June 1, that pick is the cost for "sticking" the Packers with the cap number.
Packers get 42 and 43. 2 seconds.
Love it "Packers Can GO POUND SAND"
Watch a team like the Titans or Patriots get interested—and the Jets not even get Rodgers.
Don’t pay up to get Rodgers see what happens for the Jets. The Jets have to trade for him if they want any hope of competing. We know your not going to be competent enough to draft a QB within the next decade. Rodgers is going to go for atleast a first and multiple other picks, prepare yourself.
LET ME KNOW WHEN THE DEAL IS DONE OR NIXED! UNTIL THEN, I DON'T WANNA HEAR ABOUT IT ANYMORE.
Rodgers told the Jets he’d play at least two years….jets have kept that hush hush
Jets fans are delusional If they think Aaron isn’t just a one year rental before he retires next year.
You can go pound sand with Zach Wilson 🖕. 13/43+44/No Rodgers. Your choice 🤡
The Packers may not have leverage, but you know what we do have? Aaron Rodgers, come get him for a real price
Ngl I would hate to play for the Packers at this point. Just a petty, joke of an organization.
