Ibiza Airport (IBZ LEIB) (Catalan: Aeroport d'Eivissa, Spanish: Aeropuerto de Ibiza) is the international airport serving the Balearic Islands of Ibiza and Formentera in Spain located 7 km southwest of Ibiza Town. As the island is a major European holiday destination, it features some year-round domestic services as well as several dozen seasonal routes to cities across Europe. Ibiza has become well known for its association with nightlife, electronic music that originated on the island, and for the summer club scene, all of which attracts large numbers of tourists drawn to that type of holiday. Several years before 2010, the island's government and the Spanish Tourist Office had been working to promote more family-oriented tourism, with the police closing down clubs that played music at late night hours, but by 2010 this policy was reversed. One looking straight ahead and the other towards the right wing, since this is more interesting while we pass Ibiza city visible on the right side of the aircraft. The first upload of 2023!!! This is a cloudy approach towards Ibiza. In the METAR it was mentioned FEW clouds, but we thought it to be more SCT or perhaps even BKN. (More clouds than FEW). One of my friends was on the island and managed to make a shot from his hotel. This flight took place on the 28th of June 2021! (I am way behind!!!) Boeing 737-800 with registration PH-HXG. Approach and landing on runway 06 of Ibiza international airport, Balearic Islands, Spain. Cockpit view Airbus A320. With ATC (airtraffic control) audio. Produced in 4k. This approach starts almost abeam Ibiza airport with beautiful views of the Islands of Formentera, Espardell and Espalmador. We pass along Es Vedra Island and Cala Jondal Beach.. Moments before landing there are nice views of the Ibiza salt mines (Ses Salines) and Es Codolar Beach. Due to other arriving and departing traffic and the required distances in between, we have to fly a long approach to the island.
